I hate the word "privilege" the way is currently used and tossed about. I've used it a few times myself I admit. But I'm sick of it. It's trite and overused. A privilege is something, a right that is enjoyed by some that is beyond whats commonly shared. And in that sense I get it and it seems useful. But I wonder if

One last one for today. The Maroons: A Jamaican connection to Nova Scotia. The Maroons were a group of rebel Jamaican's fighting the British in Jamaica. When the British finally over came them, the deported some of the Maroons to Nova Scotia http://www.bccns.com/history/maroons/

News item making the rounds up north here. A young lady took a photograph, self portrait, wearing a skirt hiked up to the top of her thigh with certain terms scrawled on her bare leg along the way such as "Matronly", "Prudish", etc to show societies views of acceptable clothing on women.
